She was born on Natucket to a Quacker family, in the 1790s. She became a very well known advocate for women's rights, as well as an astronomer, and an early abolitionist. She traveled to London to speak about Abolition, and was at the first Women's Rights convention in Seneca Falls, NY. She accomplished so much, especially for the limits placed on women of her time.
